(Make A Giving And Not A Living) TO THE BIBLE: “Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.”Ephesians 4:28 LET'S TALK There are people who believe the main reason they work is so they can earn a living and make ends meet. But that's not what the Word of God teaches. Our opening scripture reveals that the reason you ought to work is so you would have to give; you work to “make a giving,” not a living. Some people live as though the Bible said, “My God shall supply all your needs according to how much you're paid for the work you do.” The Word says, “And My God shall supply all your needs according to HIS RICHES IN GLORY BY CHRIST JESUS” (Philippians 4:19). So recognise and look to the Lord as your source for all things. He's the One who orchestrates all things in your favour (Romans 8:28) and supplies all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Whatever you do and get paid for is a medium or channel through which you bless others and are rewarded. Giving is God's established medium to prosper you financially. Therefore, it doesn't matter how much you're paid doing what you do, never take it as your source of income. This doesn't in any way mean that you should handle the work with levity. Do it with excellence and shun mediocrity, and the Lord will promote you. GO DEEPER Psalm 23:1-5 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Psalm 121:1-2 I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. PRAY Heavenly Father, I recognise you as my source of wealth and prosperity. I rejoice to know that I can always rely on you to supply all my needs according to your riches in glory by Christ Jesus! I look up to you today, and always for my promotion and prosperity. Amen. DAILY BIBLE READING ONE YEAR Colossians 1:24-2:1-5, Isaiah 46-47 TWO YEAR Hebrews 2:10-18, Lamentations 4-5 ACT What good can you offer to someone today? Make a job out of it and when you get rewarded, give someone out of that reward.
